Terms of Service

Design Process & Terms of Service  for a Custom Website, WordPress Blog and Blogger to WordPress Transfers:

  • Contact Me for a Custom Quote
  • Fill out a Client Information Form which I will email to you.
  • Once the form has been received, I will send you a Custom Quote & estimated availability for the design completion. (My availability is typically between 2-4 weeks and my turn around time once I begin your design will be 1-3 weeks depending on how custom your design is.)
  • Agree to these Terms of Service, Fill out & Return the Client Design Questionnaire you will receive via email.
  • A 50% Deposit is due upfront billed via Paypal. (Cash and Credit Cards also accepted)  Once the deposit is made I will secure the date of availability for you or schedule your design in my next available slot.  If I have a reschedule or finish other designs ahead of yours and can move your design up in the que, I will.
  • During your scheduled design time I will create a first draft on a test site and have that to you within a due date which will be disclosed when I begin the project. I will send you the link to view the design once the first draft is complete. You will be able to let me know what changes (if any) you would like to me make from colors to layout to backgrounds, etc…  Please take time to look through  your first draft and make ONE long list of changes in ONE email.  This will make it much easier for me to make your changes and allow me to complete the changes much faster. Depending on the design package you select, additional revisions may be billed at my current hourly rate.
  • During your scheduled design time, you will need to be available to reply to emails and questions within 12-24 hours to make sure that I complete your design on time.  If I am unable to complete your design in the scheduled time due to delay or lack of response from you, I will be happy to extend the scheduled time for your design but will have to work the completion of your design in around other clients who have already been scheduled in for the following week.
  • Once you approve of the final design, I will invoice you for the 50% balance due via Paypal or you may pay with a credit card over the phone.
  • I will install the design (and transfer your site to WordPress if applicable) within 72 hours of the balance being paid Monday-Thursday.
  • Additional requests for design or web services beyond what is included in the terms that we discuss prior to beginning the design or that are outside of the normal scope of the design or that are requested after final approval is given, balance is paid and installation is started are available but will be billed at my current hourly or per project rate.
  • Please back up and save a backup of your databases and save a copy to your computer prior to the scheduled installation of your new design.  If this is a Blogger to WordPress transfer, please also back up your current custom template. I will not be held responsible for any lost data or content.
  • Please note that I do not add or create content to your site, nor do I teach you how to blog or use WordPress. This is your responsibility. Design will be limited to the actual design which includes the colors, layout and graphic images only.
  • You are responsible for paying for your annual domain renewal, hosting plan and keeping a backup of your own site and database and design and maintaining your own site.  Should something happen to your site, the content or the design it is your responsibility to get it fixed or pay for any costs involved in repairing the site or re-installing any data, content, backups or the design.
  • I will place a small design credit text link in the footer of your blog with a link to my website (Custom Design by CEO of Me Designs). You must leave this text and link in place as long as you are using the design that I created for your website.
  • Copyright for all custom graphics will be given to the client once the design is completed. Regarding the design, if you want to make additional changes to your design after installation, please contact me. I will be happy to make any revisions or changes at a discounted hourly rate for you.  I do ask that another designer not make changes to your design as a whole without first contacting me.
  • Your design includes installation of Genesis Framework by Studiopress. This is a single license only and may only be used on the website the design is installed on.  The same type of single license applies for any Premium Plugins I install. This also applies to the design as a whole. It may not be used on another domain except the one I install it on. If you change domains or decide to switch websites and wish to move the design to the new site, you must contact me to do the transfer / installation for you or to request permission to move it.
  • Once your design is installed and any agreed upon optimizations are completed, I will email you any login information, links and other important information you need as well as a Getting Started with WordPress and Genesis Guide (if applicable) to help you out.
  • I will be available for basic questions and help via email after your design is installed. Should you need support or technical assistance for issues or crashing your site that require a lengthy amount of time for me to work on or to correct (as in more than 5-10 minutes), I am happy to help you at my currently hourly rate of $30 (rate subject to change).
  • While I am happy to answer basic questions, it will be your responsibility to learn how to use WordPress. There are many great tutorials and tips available to help you learn how to use WordPress.  Please remember I only create and work on the design, I cannot manipulate how WordPress works.
  • Please note that I typically only work on designs Mon-Thursday afternoons and evenings. I will do my best to reply to any emails within 24 hours during those days. If you have an emergency please put URGENT as the subject of your email.
  • If you are one of my hosting clients and have an emergency with your site and cannot get a hold of me, you can contact your host directly. RFE - Visit their website here for contact information or email them at: support@rfehosting.com
  • Your business is important to me & I appreciate your referrals! I do have a referral program for my clients, where I will pay you 5% of the design fee of any client you refer to me either via Paypal cash or in the form of credits towards graphic design for buttons, banners or additional site optimizations.
